Context
The University of Business and Technology (UBT) hosted the 19th Asia Pacific Conference on Giftedness (APCG2026) in Jeddah under the patronage of the Minister of Education. The event required a complete, highly secure digital backbone to coordinate paper submissions, peer reviews, attendee registrations, and global payment processing on a fixed conference timeline.
The challenge
Coordinating a complex academic review workflow alongside a public-facing attendee registration experience.
Handling secure, multi-currency credit card transactions from global attendees reliably.
Accelerating the development and styling of highly polished, responsive layouts under strict deadline constraints.
Approach

Adopted OpenConf to manage the academic paper submission and peer-review processes, integrating it with custom .NET Core APIs for registration data flow.

Implemented Amazon Payfort SDK to handle global payments with 3D Secure verification, ensuring compliance and transaction reliability.

Built a modern, highly responsive frontend using React and Vite, utilizing Cursor, Gemini, and v0 by Vercel to speed up design and component development.

Conducted performance and load testing on administrative registration portals to ensure stability under peak concurrent traffic.
Outcomes
Successfully supported submissions, program scheduling, and registrations for over 1,000 global delegates from 40+ countries without downtime.
Processed global credit card transactions securely with zero payment failures or auditing errors.
Awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the President of UBT for outstanding contribution to the university's digital transformation initiatives.
Established a reusable .NET/React software template for hosting future academic and corporate conferences at UBT.
